Jekyll Island Show

Lowcountry Turners is exhibiting at the Goodyear Cottage on Jekyll Island this October. We are limited to 40 pieces in total. All items must be for sale, with a $2,000 limit for a single item. Goodyear Cottage takes a 25% commission. Completed inventory sheets are due to Roy by September 1st. These sheets will be distributed at upcoming meetings and will be made available online. The pieces are due to Roy at the September 29th meeting, or need to be delivered to Goodyear Cottage by 9am on October 1.

The opening reception will be Sunday, October 2 from 1 to 3pm. All exhibitors should attend. The exhibit runs through October 31.

Gallery Exhibit Setup

Setup for the Savannah Cultural Affairs Show from March 4-April 1 will be March 1-3. Roy will start the setup on March 1 at 10am. Anyone that wants to help is welcome.The opening reception for the exhibit will be March 4 from 5 to 9pm. All members are encouraged to attend. Roy will buy appetizers, plates, cups and napkins from Sam’s Club. He will also provide wood serving platters and/or bowls.

Just a reminder that any artwork sold during the exhibit will remain at the show for the entire duration.

The exhibit ends April 4. Roy will be there at 10am to start to tear down the exhibit. Members who are exhibiting work can pick up their pieces on April 4. Volunteers are needed to pick up work for members who can’t be there and distribute it at the next member meeting on April 28.

Savannah Cultural Arts Gallery Exhibition

Lowcountry Turners is exhibiting at the Savannah Cultural Arts Gallery March 4-April 1. We are planning to exhibit 35-40 turned pieces, with a limit of three pieces per member. (This number may change if more or fewer people opt to participate.) Exhibition agreement forms can be downloaded here. Please bring the completed form, along with your artwork, to the February 25th Lowcountry Turners meeting, or deliver them to the Savannah Cultural Arts Gallery at 9 Henry St by February 29th.

Classes at Maven Makers

Lowcountry Turners has partnered with Maven Makers to hold woodturning classes at their beautiful facilities at 415 W. Boundary St. in Savannah. Browse the classes here. Classes are taught by Lowcountry Turners members, and will be held to only 7 students per class to ensure personal attention. Lowcountry Turners members get a 20% or more discount on classes. So tell all your friends to sign up today! Upcoming classes include lidded boxes, pepper mills, spinning tops and pens. Introduction to Woodturning will be taught the first Thursday of every month.

The Raffle is Now Closed!

Lowcountry Turners Meeting on October 29th

Our October Monthly Meeting will be our last one at The Guild Hall. The meeting is Thursday, October 29th at 6pm. Steve Pritchard from Winston, GA, will be turning bangles and pendants. Visit his web site at stevepritchardwoodturning.com to see his other artwork.
