Due to popular demand, our 1st Annual Lowcountry Turners Raffle has been extended through Wednesday, December 9th! Winners will be announced on Thursday, December 10th. There’s still a great chance that you could win your favorite pieces, including the custom-sized wooden turned cowboy hat by Chris Ramsey. Buy your tickets today!
We are thrilled to have found a new teaching venue at Maven Makers on 415 West Boundary Street in Savannah! Our next two classes will feature Christmas ornaments on Thursday, November 12th and Thursday, December 3rd, both 6-9pm. Each class is $25 for Lowcountry Turners members and $35 for non-members. Our October Monthly Meeting will be our last one at The Guild Hall. The meeting is Thursday, October 29th at 6pm. Steve Pritchard from Winston, GA, will be turning bangles and pendants. Visit his web site at stevepritchardwoodturning.com to see his other artwork.

The combined November/December Lowcountry Turners meeting will be Thursday, December 10th at 6pm at Maven Makers. The featured demonstrator will be Bradley McCalister from Easy Wood Tools.
The First Annual Lowcountry Turners Raffle is now live! Click here or on the link in the top menu to see the beautiful items that are included. Tickets are $20 each, and you can buy as many as you want to increase your chances. Our featured item is a turned, custom-fitted Cowboy Hat by master turner Chris Ramsey.
The raffle will run now through the end of November. All proceeds go to support club business, including paying experts to teach and offer workshops, expanding our outreach through advertising, buying teaching equipment and funding scholarships to turning camps. Lowcountry Turners will be hosting one of our own, Jeff Amacher, at this Thursday’s regular monthly LCT meeting from 6-8pm at The Guild Hall. Jeff will be demonstrating the art of turning a bowl—from log to finish. As always, the meeting is open to public.
Lowcountry Turners will be entering a collaborative project in the 2016 American Association of Woodturners Annual International Symposium, to be held June 9-12 in Atlanta. We’re looking for turners who’d like to be a part of the winning team! If you’d like to volunteer, please contact Roy Yarger. We would like to have our team assembled by the end of the year.
Lowcountry Turners will be holding an online raffle to raise funds for club business. Our members have generously donated some of their finest turned projects as prizes in the Lowcountry Turners raffle. You’ll have the opportunity to buy a raffle ticket for each of the items you’d like to take home. And with a limited number of raffle tickets sold per item, you’ll have a great chance of winning!
